Mar 1, 2012 12:16 AM in response to jtthomasby andynick,You're giving no information, so nobody can help you.
Check the spec of your Mac against the system requirements:
http://www.apple.com/finalcutpro/specs/
Check the spec of your graphics card. If it's listed here, it's not suitable:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4664
If all the above is OK and you are getting crashes, there is some conflict on the OS. Create a new (admin) user account on your system and use FCP X from there - if it runs a lot better, there's a conflict and a clean install would be recommended.

Jun 15, 2013 11:29 PM in response to andynickby Karen orlando,I don't think you read his question properly. It is not that Final Cut is not running properly - it will not even install becuase the dmg download is corrupt. I am having the same problem on a brand new iMac that more than meets the requirement. I have tried using different browsers - I get an invalid checksum everytime.

Jun 15, 2013 11:39 PM in response to Karen orlandoby Tom Wolsky,The thread is over a year old. The dmg used then will not be the same as the one you're downloading. Sounds like a download problem maybe with your ISP.
