May 29, 2013 5:29 AM in response to DonSurasby barrygoug,Me too. Having a Snooze duration choice is needed. I have been using an App called Due. It works great but I would prefer not to have an App for this and an App for that, if it's already builit in to ML, but is just not full featured. If Apple is going to build in something it should be full featured or not at all.

May 29, 2013 8:55 AM in response to PaulaBlanchardby Hawfinch,@PaulaBlanchard - Yes, BusyCal can access the events in your Apple Calendar and generate its own snoozable alerts for these, so it shouldn't affect your workflow with Mail. Just turn off the Calendar alerts in Notifications (System Preferences) and turn on the custom alarms in BusyCal's Preferences.
The only problems I've had with BusyCal have been with syncing the snoozes across multiple Macs sharing a calendar.

Jun 16, 2013 6:50 AM in response to DonSurasby ssweales,I have been following this thread from virtually the day it was created as I am extremely put out by the lack of snooze duration configurability as well as no configuration option for where a notification is displayed (top right always covers tabs on my browser!!).
I have raised multiple requests over the last 9 months to Apple without hearing a word. :-(
I have not seen the preview of Mavericks yet, but can any of you who might be using it tell me if either a snooze duration, or configuration option for notification position have been added or not? I'd find it amazing that new functionality has been added to notifications without either if these being addressed. Actually, amazing is not the correct word, negligent is.

Jun 16, 2013 6:53 AM in response to sswealesby CT,Uh-oh.
I have sent multiple requests to apple to keep snooze the absolutely perfect way it is. I guess we canceled each other out.

Jun 16, 2013 7:21 AM in response to CTby ssweales, doh! Well that is your right - will have to raise a few more times to override you.
Why do you think it is perfect the way it is (taking into account the sentiment within this thread)?
Still, the lack of response from Apple, especially as they hold their customer service up as a beacon of shining light, is not what I would call outstanding.
Hopefully someone can answer re: Mavericks and restore my faith

Aug 9, 2013 2:33 PM in response to DonSurasby abugbitme,Check out Snoozemaster in the app store. It takes over notification for iCal and Reminders. (you must turn them off in System Preferences) With Snoozemaster you can set the snooze to x minutes/hours/days before event start, before event end, after event start or after event end. It's only 2 bucks.
Hopefully Apple will fix notification snooze in Mavericks.

Aug 9, 2013 3:02 PM in response to abugbitmeby Brian T. Nakamoto,Hi abugbitme,
Do you encounter the issue reported by other App Store reviewers where SnoozeMaster periodically quits (which is a fatal flaw for a reminder app)?
Thanks!

Aug 9, 2013 5:40 PM in response to Brian T. Nakamotoby abugbitme,Hi Brian,
I just installed it today, so time will tell if it will be reliable. I did a couple of tests after installing it, and it functioned properly. My Mac slept while I ran some errands and Snoozemaster was still there when I woke the machine up.
What Snoozemaster does is actually set a new alert time in iCal, so you could leave the iCal Notifications on in System Preferences and you will get the Notification even if Snoozemaster quits. You will get the Notification AND the Snoozemaster notification, but just click close on the Notification and set the snooze time you want in Snoozemaster. If you dismiss Snoozemaster first it will also dismiss the Notification.
Hope this helps!

Aug 10, 2013 3:55 PM in response to abugbitmeby James Humberstone,Thanks for this Abugbitme, I'm quite happy to spend $2 to try to fix such a big failing of the software! Glad I've been following this discussion.
Has anyone had a look at the new OSX to see if it's fixed in there?
Cheers,
James

in the WWDC keynote on Mavericks, during the talk on notifications, they show a Notification for an incoming Facetime request and there is a selection button to "remind me later". It shows 15 minutes and one hour as selections in a drop down box, which might suggest the option to add to that list of "snooze" times. This is promising!
In the meantime, Snoozemaster seems to be an acceptable workaround. So far, (only a few days) I have had no issues with it.

Aug 11, 2013 5:11 PM in response to abugbitmeby polishedstaple,Wow, this is good news. Do you happen to know the time counter of where this is mentioned in the video? I would love to take a look myself.
