Morning -

Hopefully I get this posted before it does it again -

With out a clue where to look - where would a report of it's last few hours of operation be sitting.

I seem to have forgot.

Everything seem to run well - open Safari - able to post to forums -

walk away to get coffee - and it's restarting -

I've never seen this action before - it hasn't been used the last month -

I let it do the last security update last night - I'm still on 10.6.8

Go into "Console" and you can find all sorts of logs, crash reports etc. in there.

    Thanks - Salty,

I just got to console to take a look - and it crashed/restarted again - so I didn't have to dig for a report -

Here's that report that Apple pops up to send them -

Sorry Phil.... that's all gobbledygook to me!

Hopefully someone will have some idea what it means and know how to help.

All I can suggest is that you re-install the operating system.

    Good luck anyway!

    that's a Hardware problem:

    Machine-check

    ...

      Uncorrected error

    panic(cpu 0 caller 0x2aaf41): Machine Check at 0x013e332a, thread:0xf18b3d4, trapno:0x12, err:0x0,registers:

    CR0: 0x80010033, CR2: 0x7c9b1000,

Most of these turn out to be Uncorrected RAM Errors.

It does not appear to be reporting the address of the Error.

Thank's - This Has Crossed my mind to do.

I was about to get new 1 TB drives or larger - then all new OS from scratch.

Hope I can stop at 10.6.8.

Then what Grant is cluing with RAM errors - replace them as well - He is getting that age. 2008 series.

With no easy of what's obvious - this step of fresh hardware should work well.

    Thanks

First of all, check the RAM modules with Apple Hardware Test.

    Thank's Kaz - I'll take the tour.

I monitor the temps of everything & they look good -

The only IF I see in temp are the two Northbridge chips -

One is 145F, the other 118F, and I don't know the danger mode limit.

But 145 seems on the edge.

Northbridge of my Mac Pro is around 149F(65C).

Thanks very Much Kaz, for that temp data.
