I use a G4 QuickSilver 2002; run Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard.  I would like to import the old Safari Bookmarks from a drive known as Hard Disk to new drive known as WD1200 Boot Drive.  Step-by-step instructions please.

1. First I go to the Apple Menu of the drive known as WD1200 Boot Drive, right?

2. Then I choose ?

You can also go to the Safari file menu and export the bookmarks to the desktop. Copy to a thumb drive and transfer to the desktop of the new Mac. Go to Safari on this mac and import them. They can be arranged or grouped by opening the bookmarks tab on the toolbar and selecting imported bookmarks folder.Screen Shot 2013-06-16 at 5.24.50 PM.jpg

It looks like you need to use the older drive as a startup volume. Have you tried to boot by selecting it in System Preferences/Startup Disk pane or selecting it after boot with the option/alt key held down?

I found a way that worked in getting Safari bookmarks from a external non boot drive.

Open Safari on the master drive and click on Import Bookmarks.

Navigate to user folder then Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist and click import.

The folders appeared just like in the picture in my first post.

I don't think you need an external drive as I think I may have confused things by referring to my external non boot drive. I did this as I do not have a second internal drive to attempt importing the Bookmarks from.

You state you have 4 drives on the G4. For clarity lets call the Master HDD Drive A, and the other Slave HDDs drive X,Y,and Z.

    - Open Safari on Drive A and click on Import Bookmarks.

    - Navigate to the user folder on Drive x or y or z (to the one that has the Safari bookmarks you want to retrieve).

    - From the user folder go via Library/Safari/to Bookmarks.plist and select it to be imported. The bookmark folder from Drive X,Y,orZ should be in the Drive A folder as shown in the picture.
