i am reading documentation here and feeling like a total dolt.

can someone please remind me how i get my spreadsheet to print to my second printer and to get it to print in tray 1 with the 11 x 17 paper and how i get the spreadsheet to scale to fit this page size?

i can't figure out if i am supposed to select the paper size first in the PRINT dialog but if i do this i can't figure out how to scale it and if i scale it i can't figure out how to get it off of 8 x 11 paper.

oh the conundrums in mac print dialogs ; )

set the paper size then enable print view by selecting the menu item "View > Show Print View".  Then in the sheet view use the slider to adjust the scaling until you fill the page:

To set the paper size use the Document Inspector:

Overall the printer stuff is specific to the particular printer you have-- hence the generic answer

    hotwheels,

The inspector is consisten across iWork.  It is well organized you are just going through a learning curve.  The forums are a great resource.  You can also download the, free, searchable users guide from here:

I have never connected to a printer with more than one tray so I cannot help much.  I guess it would be in the dialog when you actually print.

    hotwheels,

The sheet orientation is set on a "by-sheet" basis in the "Sheet" inspector section just below the arrow of my FIRST post

I do not think you need to learn CUPS (Common Unix Printing System) to print

    Hotwheels,

Page setup is usually handled in the document.  To keep from having to repeat the steps to set up for 11x17 duplicate a doc you already have setup and save it as a template after removing data and specific information that does not belong in a template.

In Numbers you can save to a template using the menu item "File > Save as Template"
