I just removed 935 MB of files removing all the different languages that I don't speak!
That was ill-advised Lori. Removing language files will break certain application updates, Microsoft among them.
What you removed recovered less than 0.3% of your total disk capacity. It's insignificant.
There is no way to reverse this damage short of restoring OS X.
What application did you use to do this?
Deleting language files will do nothing to increase your Mac's performance, and it cannot be undone.
Boot OS X Recovery, select Disk Utility from the OS X Utilities screen and repair the disk. This will take a few moments. Make note of any errors it finds.
Quit Disk Utility and select Reinstall Mac OS X. This will restore your deleted localization files, but will not affect any installed programs or system modifications that are likely to be the reason for your Mac's poor performance.
Then, you will be in position to determine the reasons your Mac is not running as it should.
