Today I see I have 11 updates for apps on my Macintosh MacBook Pro-13" (mid-2010) running 10.8.4.

BUT I checked and each of the 11 apps is already at the update that App Store 1.2.2 proposes.  Not sure what is going on--- I've done a restart - same thing appears--- anyone else ever see this?  Is it a problem with 10.8.4 (only installed that 2 days ago).

Thanks for any comments - I have not elected to "update" any of the 11 apps.  At least not yet - suppose I could try with one and see what happens…

Best regards,

    Steve ...

Try deleting the cache associated with the App Store.

Quit the App Store if it's open.

Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following:

    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db

Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.

Relaunch the App Store. See if the updates are still available.

If that didn't help, with the App Store open launch Activity Monitor located in HD > Applications > Utilities

Type storeagent in the search field top right corner of that window. Select that process then click the red Force Quit button.

Quit and relaunch the App Store.

The Mac App Store can see it's apps on attached partitions and drives. Do you have a backup attached that has copies of all the older versions of the apps?

You are a genius!!!  Thank you very very much-- that was it!  My quarterly backup HD was connected but 2 months out of date.  (My daily and weekly HD's were up-to-date).

Thank you so VERY much!  I am learning each day!

    Best regards,

Thank you!!  This was not the case this time (see other reply) -- but very valuable information for any future potential problem.  THANKS again so much and I've printed out your reply for future reference.  Really just love these Apple discussions!  MacOnly since 1989 but learning each day!

    Best regards,
