I was thinking it might be a good idea to delete and re install the iMovie and iPhoto applications from the Mac App store.
First find the apps in your Applications folder in finder, and move them to the trash and restart your computer.
Then use this article to re download them from the Mac App Store.
Mac App Store: Finding your purchased apps

Apps purchased via the Mac App Store
When purchased via the Mac App Store, apps are installed in the Applications folder. Icons for purchased apps are automatically placed in the current user's Dock. There is also a purchases tab in the Mac App Store where you can see all of your Mac App Store downloads.
Cheers,
Sterling

Jun 15, 2013 10:13 AM in response to sterling rby Brad Hyman,This was my thinking as well. Unforntuanlly, my iMove and iPhoto did come from the apple store but, instead came pre-installed on my new 2012 Mac Mini.
I have been trying to find infomation on how to reinstall from a restore but, belive I am limmited to doing a full restore from strach over the network which I would really not enjoy doing as I would need to re-install all of my other software over again.
If you know any idea of how to restore from apple but only for only the iLife applications, this would be helpful.
