Jun 17, 2013 9:09 AM in response to Bmxracer546by Dah•veed,Are the cards issued by banks or did you buy them at the corner drug store?
Where do you live? Acceptable cards must be bank issued VISA, MasterCard and Am Ex cards from a verifiable bank in the country where you live with a billing address in the country where you live.

Jun 17, 2013 9:27 AM in response to Dah•veedby Bmxracer546,Van Buren Arkansas. The cards have always worked. There bank cards (debit). I made 2 purchases then all of a sudden it won't work. I can't even get free apps.

Jun 17, 2013 9:32 AM in response to Bmxracer546by Dah•veed,★HelpfulSometimes this is caused by a need to agree to a new Terms of Use for iTunes, or a missing 3 digit code from the back of the card.
Also, the billing address must be enter exactly as the post office would write the address. You might try going to the US Postal Service Zip Code lookup site, enter your address as if you were looking up the ZIP Code, and then copy the putput for your address exactly as the USPS writes it and plug it into your account.

Jun 18, 2013 8:51 PM in response to Dah•veedby Bmxracer546,Everything is correct. I've entered it in all correct. Spent almost an hour trying two different cards. Nothing worked. All it would say is that my method has been declined. I never needed a card to download free apps. I can't even update apps with out having a credit card now. I have 3 app updates that want a credit card to update. Everything is put in the same as it always has. It always worked. iTunes just started declining the cards. Nothing is wrong with them. Apple needs to fix this issue. I've read reviews about this issue and so far my guess of how many people who is having inch this issue is about a couple hounded.

Jun 18, 2013 8:55 PM in response to Bmxracer546by gail from maine,★HelpfulHi Bmxracer,
You indicated in your earlier post that these are Debit Cards? If so, the iTunes Store no longer accepts Debit Cards as acceptable forms of payment. You need a Credit Card or one of the forms of payment listed in this link:

Link please. Apple announced this where?
Someone should tell both of my accounts that because they work perfectly with bank issued debit cards.

Jun 18, 2013 9:20 PM in response to Dah•veedby gail from maine,Dah•veed - as you know this is an ongoing debate in the Community. I cannot point you to any specific "announcement" pertaining to this. I'm also thinking that if someone had a Debit Card on file prior to the (debated) change, then it would still work. Are you game enough to try deleting yours and putting it back on again?I do find it interesting that the Apple Store specifically indicates that it accepts Credit and Debit cards for payment, but the iTunes Store only refers to Credit cards in both the Accepted Forms of Payment article as well as any other support articles referring to iTunes payment methods. So, I will be happy to stand down on this one. However, I would also suggest that the poster try a credit card to see if the problem goes away. Unless one does not have a credit card, it seems like a fairly easy theory to test....Cheers,GB -

Jun 18, 2013 9:26 PM in response to gail from maineby Bmxracer546,Sorry. But yeah. Debit cards are still in use. I have put in 2 cards as I said before (both debit). Still declines it. I am 15 and all my friends use debit and credit cards both work. My grandma got the new iPhone 5 and she uses a credit card. I did go to the link and from what it was saying it seems to me that they were talking about other country's.

I know of no such thing. I know that a couple of folks with very little experience around here keep repeating this, but they can't provide any sort of link to where it has come down officially from on high from Apple.
Apple has always accepted a debit card with a VISA and MasterCard logo issued by a bank for a demand deposit account in the bank that has a verifiable billing address. It is treated exactly as a bank issued credit card. What Apple does not accept are prepaid VISA, MasterCard or AmEx cards that you can buy at the local corner store and load up with money.
I change my payment method all the time.
There it is at 11:29 tonight with my PayPal account
There it is 3 minutes later at 11:32 with my bank issued VISA debit card.
