What iMac model iMac, if it is early 2011 it won't mirror. Only early 2011 MacBook Pro supports mirror all other models are mid 2011 or later.

Did you sort the connection issue as I have the same problem with a new macbook pro? I can connect with Imacs and Ipads and have tried all the usual things such as resetting both the Apple TV and the macbook pro. Turning off and on the home sharing.

Daniel, try rebooting the router too if you have not already done so.

I did all that I resolved it by relaoding Mountain Lion, also I was having trouble updating Mountain Lion on another Mac which again was resolved by reloading the whole Mountain software. Maybe it a fault that Apple have not picked up on?

Had the same problem which is resolved by reloading the mountain software. I downloaded it from the Apple apps which is free as it came with my IMac.
