Q: MacBook Air ordered on Monday, status: Cancelled - Replaced with a new product

I ordered my first MacBook Air at Apple's online store on monday, just after it's been released. Until now, the order status was "Processing items", but when I checked the order status page a few moments ago, a new box appeared with the title "Cancelled - Replaced with a new product".Bildschirmfoto 2013-06-14 um 22.49.38.png

 

Does anybody know what this new status means? I've never ordered anything at Apple so I don't know what I should do now.

I'm just spitballing here but, evidently, Apple is giving you the newer model computer, exactly as the notification reads.  You can always call Apple, and ask for a clarification.  As another poster noted, you can always cancel your order, wait a few days, and then reorder the newer model.

    My air just shipped too. Didn't realise the MBAs are assembled in China though! Well, I did but I thought custom orders would have regional assembly lines like Dell. No wonder the delivery estimates are quite wide ranging. It says they sent it express at least, and having had a look at the UPS tracking website, it seems to be on the way.  Apple are saying delivery by 24th June. Not exactly express. I wait as patiently as possible, but this is agonising as I need the laptop for research.

    How did you access UPS tracking? Which code did you use? I would like to check it myself but none of them did work for me .

    My status changed to Preparing for Shipment about 8 hours ago. How long did it take for your status to turn to "Shipped" when you ordered your MacBook Air?

    When I press track order from the apple store (I'm using the iphone app) and go through to the shipment status page there is an "assigned carrier" label and next to it - ups, underneath that it gives the tracking number. For a short time after the status first changed the tracking number was a different number and it didn't work. Then it must have had it's pickup scan and everything sprung to life and the tracking number changed. That's when I found it was coming from China and the delivery timescales suddenly made a bit more sense. Ups expect to deliver on 20th june.

    Sorry leo, not sure how long between preparing and shipped - never saw a preparing one. Seemed to go straight to shipped on my screen but I could have missed it.

    I use the iPhone app too. But I think it's because I ordered some accessories. It has to be 'packaged' together according to the status page. I will get the real tracking number when all items are combined. But again, june 25th ***** xD I was hoping for june 19-21 as my status page on apple.com is still suggesting ^^

    Mine was shipped June 14 from Shanghai  and was advised by Apple E-mail would receive it June 21. Verified the tacking notice and it was deliveried today June 18 via Fedex.

     

    Good luck to all those awaiting receipt of the new toy.

    I ordered on release day (I'm in the UK) and mine shipped on the 18th early hours China time.

     

    My MBA 13 is currently between Hong Kong and somewhere else.. It went from China -> South Korea -> Hong Kong

     

    Very weird route!

    I would love to check it myself, but somehow I still don't have a tracking number. Did you guys ordered multiple items or just the MBA?

    I ordered the MBA, but with a Thunderbolt-VGA adapter. I don't know if that makes any difference. I found my tracking number directly on the "Orders" site:
