Been having a problem trying to get my iPhone to sync with my fiance's desktop with Win 8 on it. It went fine with my laptop that had Win 8 as well, but i broke my laptop and havent been able to get it fixed. I try hooking the phone up to the desktop to sync and it only brings up the program manger which I can remove my pictures.

Why does it work on one device with Win 8 but not the other?

iPhone 4, Windows 8

You might also need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes on her computer. Follow this support document if it is necessary to do that. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

iTunes is what has the communication software and USB drivers for the iPhone. It could be the problem.

I don't think that Apple has said that it is officially supporting Windows 8 yet. While many report things working on it, there are also a number of problems.

You could try going into Control Panel, Device Manager and find the iPhone. Go to the driver setting and uninstall it. Then plug the phone back into the computer and it should prompt the installation of a new driver. See if that helps.

I think I understand the problem.  Your iPhone was originally synced on your own computer and has some media (music/videos, etc) on the phone.  You now want to sync to a differnt computer without losing the media that is on the iPhone.  Is that correct?

It seems like you need the iPhone to work in a way that it was not designed to work.  I'm sorry, but I don't have any advice that involves 3rd party solutions.  Proceed with care.
