I have the same problem.
If I try to install any new apps via app store the installation button just blinks once, if I try to update it blinks and if I try to install from my purchased apps it blinks and nothing happens. No notifications and no install nor update.
I have restarted my iphone several times and it does not make any difference. I also tried to delete the apps which was in my update folder and tried to install them again but without success (I read this workaround in another forum, but it did not work for this issue). I also disabled the wifi connection but it made no difference.

This happened to me yesterday too. It started when I used my apple ID to set up a new ipad. It seems like there is an issue with the apple id, not the device. I can use my other apple id fine. Maybe it's some kind of security giltch? I also reset my password, it worked for a little while, then went right back to the same problem.
Also, it doesn't work on my Iphone4 or my Ipad!

I was having this problem to then i just found the solution. I upgraded for the 4s to the 5 today and couldnt install any previously purchased apps. When you go into the itunes store from itunes on your computer and look in your account. It will say devices*. Itunes will only sync to one device with apparently only on id now. So if you have a new device go into your account and delete the old device and add the new one. PROBLEM SOLVED! Hope this helped if this was the issue.

Interesting for sure. Itunes on my Imac says I'm synched with my Iphone and my Imac. But, I think I may have solved it too....
I changed my apple ID Password, and found that I couldn't download from my previous purchases. But I could download new apps! Weird!.
But I think you're right, use a seperate apple id for each ios device. But the Imac must be able to sync to these devices as well.

In case of mind has no change any new device.
I have two iPhone 4, using same Apple ID since I bought them year ago.
I never having trouble with install purchased apps or update until few days ago.
Separate apple id could not be solution.
I also disappoint on Apple Service!
I thought this support forum would be some technical guys from apple
Come to help us? But just only user shared their experience!
I'm really designed to change my device if apple still getting worse!

All of a sudden my phone works normal from this morning. I tried to do a few checks yesterday and I could not correct the actual problem but I could in some ways update and install apps from the purchased folder. What I did was clicking at two updates / programs at the same time... but it took several atempts before the program started to update/install. 9/10 cases the iphone prompted me with an error message saying: "MZCommerce.JmsSendError_message". I don't know what this means but it seems that apple have done something to correct it during the night.

For me, it started yesterday on my iphone 5. I had multiple updates so i said update all. All the apps sait waiting and wouldn't actually install. I have delete them all, signed in and out of app store, reset my phone numerous times, killed the app store, and tried to re-install the apps and they always just say waiting. I have a Mac and Ipad 4th gen all with the same Apple ID, never had this issue before. I just got the 4th gen, i had a Ipad 2 but sold it, not sure if that is causing the problems, although that was a couple of weeks ago. No problems before yesterday (Nov 20th).
