Early 2011 Macbook Pro. 8GB Ram. 2.3 Ghz Intel Core i5. Samsung 840 Series SSD. Mountain Lion.

My Intel 520 Series SSD in my Early 2011 macbook pro failed on me after only a few months. I decided to try out the Samsung 840 instead this time. However, I notice a slight lag in simple tasks with this hard drive installed. I noticed it right from the start when I was installing Mountain Lion fresh. I would click continue and the computer would hesitate slightly before proceeding. Just about a second or two. When I type it would take a second or two for the typing to show up. Opening new tabs in a web browser would lag slightly. Sometimes clicking or right clicking would lag. I would get the spinning colors much more often for a second or two when opening applications and such. Just enough lag to be annoying.

My intel ssd was flawless. So now, I decided to put a non-ssd Seagate momentus 500gb in to see if that would lag too. Nope. Everything is perfect with the seagate. Smooth as could be.

Any ideas? Thanks.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)
