Both my wife's and daughter's iPhone 5s as well as iPad minis are experiencing regular dropped wifi and my wife's iPhone 5 (brand new, two days old) battery drains 5% on average per hour while in sleep mode.  They are both on iOS 6.1.4.

I've got an iPhone 4 and iPad 2, both on iOS 6.1.3 and am not seeing either of these problems.  My wife just moved from the iPhone 4S, which also wasn't having any issues.

We have the Apple Time Capsule and a 20mb asynchronous Internet connection which works flawlessly.

I've tried forgetting & resetting network settings as well as renewing IP addresses on the devices without success.  Since the phone is new, I'll call Apple to see if they have additional suggestions.

I have dropped wifi and calls as a matter of fact, I live in rural Minnesota and I was on roaming most of the time. Now my phone says NO SERVICE unless I'm in a city, in town my phone still says No Service where I had service before. This is ridiculous. And I don't know if anyone Else has had this problem but I have had to send 2 lightning cables back to Apple because thy quit working. Something needs to be done because I can even use my phone anymore, unless I'm just using it with wifi but my computer was cheaper then this phone!

    FIX iOS 6.1.4!

I just bought an iPhone 5 last weekend, and the first thing i noted its a BIG problem with the Wi-Fi. i have iOS 6.1.4 from factory and the Wi-Fi is awful, i can´t stand more than 5 meters from the router and Wi-Fi lost connection... Hope iOS 7 solves this, everything else works perfect. Hope Apple read us!

It seems to me that your phone is faulty. The best thing you could do is go back to the store where you purchased your phone and have it checked out and changed if necessary. Good luck.

Maybe, you know, I just realized that since I bought it i bought too a casing to protect it from shock and others, now that I've been testing, i remove the casing and the WiFi runs smoothly. Wow ... that was dumb lol I need to check this on my home later :S

Glad you solved it. Bad case could be blocking your wi-fi port.

Since updating my iPhone 5, my internal speaker is out of order... Tried soft reset and all the usuals, without any results. It seems like I haven't been the only one with those kinds of problems !

I'm doing a factory restore and reloading iOS 6.1.4. I'll let you all know if that solved anything.

I just finished the factory restore and the problem still persists... anybody has any idea of how to fix this ?

    Thanks for the help !

I was on the phone for a long time with Apple, my computer automatically made a backup before mine was restored and I used that back up and it fixed a lot of my problems. My phone would say No Service, couldn't call send text messages wifi was iffy. And all my stuff on my phone was gone! Well the backup helped most of my issues aside from the stuff being gone. Not sure if this helps! /:

    Thanks for the feedback !

I restored my phone as well. I made a backup on the computer and completely restored it... but that didn't change a thing. The phone works fine, good wifi/4g/reception. Loudspeaker works fine too.... just the internal speaker...

The problem appeared with the iOS update 6.1.4; before that all was well !

You read hear a lot of problems and solutions, but it are not real solutions they are for a short time.

The wifi can maiby resolved with chose a other channel on the router are updating the software of it if there is a updating software for the router.

Heating of the phone when you do nothing is also not normal.

My opinion is that the problem is more, let us say, technical a system/hardware problem are construction problems.

I also have a wifi issue like everyone else, and it is not the channel selection or the ghz that the router sends out, my iPhone has been connected to around 15 different networks up and down the country and it drops out on every single one.

My main problem with the new update is that my phone hangs every time i go to reply to a message. it hangs for 5 seconds before i can type, then takes another 5 seconds to send the message , then wont let me lock the screen for another 5 seconds. Every single time!!!

Ive never ever had any issues until the 6.1.4 update, and as i never had audio problems in the first place i wish i never updated to it!

Please release a new version that fixes this Apple asap!

iOS 6.1.4 since it came out, no dropped wifi no sound issues, Some phones could have bad flashes of firmware or hardware issues and an update shows that up, of the millins of iPhone 5's I dont see hunderds of pages complaining about it on this forum. I suggest you restore as new, of go get your phone swapped out maybe. Or reset network. Mine and my friends all work fine.

I dont see how i should need to swap my phone. It has been working perfectly fine since October until that update installed.

I have tried several restores with no success.

There are several people on here complaining about these problems if you google it..

After creeply updating itself to 6.1.4 my iPhone 4s now has terrible battery life, ringer doesn't work and my Safari bookmarks are not only gone but I can't save new ones. Like a fan boy, I am left "wanting my fix". Please update your update.
