My IPhone 4s' "music" player contains songs in which the file was not downloaded.  I can sync a working copy of the songs from my ITunes library, but the bad copy remains on the phone.  How can I remove the non-working copies?

My IPhone 4s' "music" player contains songs in which the file was not downloaded.  I can sync a working copy of the songs from my ITunes library, but the bad copy remains on the phone.  Essentially, when I sync my phone with my iTunes library on my computer, my phone then has duplicate copies of these 120 songs, but one works and one doesn't and I can't differentiate between them. How can I remove the non-working copies from my phone?

Another problem, when I've sucessfully synced my music library, from my computer the iTunes only recognizes that "my phone" has only the 1 working copy of the song, but at the very same time my phone shows that I have the 2 copies.  Sorry, if this sounds completely confusing, let me konw if you need any further clarification, and I can try my best.
