    Welcome to Apple Support Communities

You have a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro, that supports 16 GB of memory. You can buy more RAM at OWC or Crucial > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3_160 0MHz_SDRAM You can get memory from other sources, but that memory may not work with your MacBook Pro, so it's better to get it from OWC or Crucial.

If you need help installing memory > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1270

Suggest what, exactly? I cannot locate your part number, so could you tell us what Model Identifier you find in System Profiler?

According to the OP's profile he is using Snow Leopard. You cannot run Snow Leopard on a 2012 MBP. Where did you locate the model number, because I wasn't able to?

Put MC847LL/A on Google and you will get the hardware of that Mac. The configuration of that Mac belongs to the Mid 2012 15-inch MacBook Pro.

Most of users don't know which Mac OS X version to put when they add your computer. For example, iMac users with iOS 6.1.4

Apart from that, I'm not getting notifications of your replies, so now I don't receive notifications of LowLuster, stedman1 and you, but I receive them from all other users. Does it happen to you?

Oops, my mistake. Sorry, Kappy and kobedu, but I can tell you that the model number and its configuration belongs to the Mid 2012 MacBook Pro.

You have a Mid 2010 15-inch MacBook Pro, so now things change, because your computer only supports 8 GB of RAM. You can still get them from OWC or Crucial > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3

With model number I was referring to MC847LL/A, not MacBookPro6,2, that shows that you have a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro. See my comment above your last one
