Jun 24, 2013 4:16 PM in response to pidwermiby Kilgore-Trout,★HelpfulAppleTV is an iOS based computer device. You need a network connection (wireless) to use it, and some content does require subscriptions, but not all. An AppleID (iTunes account) is also needed. No, your wireless router does not do the same thing, nor will the Apple TV replace it.

Jun 24, 2013 5:11 PM in response to pidwermiby Kilgore-Trout,★HelpfulSince I wouldn't voluntarily touch AT&T with a ten foot pole, I couldn't say. Adn I have no experience with 2 wire. My AppleTV works fine with my DSL service (local CLEC) and Airport Extreme.

Jun 24, 2013 5:36 PM in response to pidwermiby deggie,My Apple TV 2 works fine with AT&T (although I actually run an Apple Extreme now for my network) and the ATV 3 has had no issues with the 2wire that I have seen. Unless you are going to buy a used ATV you will be getting the ATV 3.
