hello

I'd like to add text and labels on my images for putting them up on my website. As an example, the requirement is to put categories of the types of work I do viz Travel, Fashion, Wedding etc, that I'd like to put on images which will run as a slide show on my home page.

The output I am looking at is similar to what Keynote or PPT allows in terms of flexibility and functionality viz circles, rectangles etc inside which text can be added. But unfortunately Keynote or PPT do not have slides in similar ratio of images (3:2). Moreover when Keynote slides are published as images, the quality of the text reduces dramatically.

Any suggestions? (I wouldnt prefer using Photoshop, would prefer something simple where I can simply import images, add text and shapes, format and publish)

The (free) BorderFX plug-in does a pretty good job of adding text annotation to images. You can add captions, keywords, and all kinds of metadata tags that have been added to your images. The annotations can go onto the border or directly onto the image.

You can download it here: BorderFX - BorderFX

P.S: You are not bound by the predefined slide size in Keynote. If yu prefer the Keynote style, define a custom slide size, like this:

Thanks for both the responses Leonie, I have tried using Keynote/PPT in the past, however the image published from both of them appear hazy/blurry when put on the net. I think this is because of the file size, but then, I couldnt find any option in these two tools to be able to publish a high quality (large file size) image. One of my requirements is to have images with text which I put on FB, however all images published from KN/PPT are of poor quality for FB too. Am I missing out on anything in KN to be able to publish a high quality image after adding text to it.

    Try the following in Keynote:

Set the Slide Size to a custom value in the Inspector panel:

For example, with the Slide Size set to 4000x3000 I managed to export a gigantic png-file of 17MB!

Then export your slides as images from the "File > Sharing" menu: You can pick tiff, png, or jpeg:
