I tried the resolution links above but in iTunes, I don't have the "Look for iPod touch, iPhone and iPad Remotes" under the Devices tab of iTunes preferences. Like Zedlav, I too after updating to 18.104.22.168, my remote no longer connects, etc.

I forgot to mention this, but I had missed one thing, that was to restart my router.
As soon as I did, Remote started working again. Still stops working from time to time, but restarting my router fixes it every time.
