can't sync my ipod touch because I am unable to authorize my account

I recently had my computer's hard drive crash, and had to reinstall the OS on it. when I go to sync my ipod touch to itunes, it says I need to authorize some of the apps that were purchased with an account that I no longer remember the password to. when I went to reset the password, it asked for my birthdate, but when I entered it into iForgot, it said it was incorrect, and I no longer have access to the email address associated with this account. what can i do?

ipod touch 2nd gen, iOS 4.2
