I'm attempting to purchase more storage for my iCloud account, however, the Apple ID stored in my iMac -> Settings -> iCloud is old and out of date. How do I reset the ID used in that function?

iPhone 4S, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Explain please, if the account that uses the ID is the one you want to buy storage for why do you need to change it?

I think what csound is getting to is the potential for conflicts two IDs can create.

To change the iCloud Apple ID you need to go to Settings > iCloud > Account > and change the Apple ID, Password, Description, Mail.

You also need to go to each app that links to the iCloud account and make sure they are set to use the new Apple ID if they use an ID.

You will need to go to Settings > iTunes & Apps Stores and then go to the Apple ID and SIgn Out if you are set to the old ID, Sign In using the the new ID and setup that Apple ID information.

But now you have the conflict of apps purchased under the old ID that you cannot update under the new ID since apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used for the initial download.

Sign out of iCloud (Settings>iCloud), then sign in with the new ID

I would, especially if you need the data from the old account to transfer to the new account.
