DesktopsIf you erase the drive, or use a new drive, you can install 10.6.5 on any Mac Pro.
However, the last "Full Retail" DVD contains 10.6.3, and it will not boot the latest Mac Pros.
You can do this with a Full Retail DVD, but it requires another Mac that can run 10.6 and boot from the "Full Retail" DVD, and yes it does require a "full retail" DVD because the ones packed in the boxes with new Macs are model-specific.

Jun 27, 2013 5:06 AM in response to atroncosomby The hatter,IF you lack the OEM DVD, those can be ordered from Apple for a small fee and the serial number off the machine so that you get the OEM 10.6.4.+ special build.
ML requires all software and drivers be "PowerPC-less" as there is no underlying support for their code thru Rosetta. Roaringapps.com has a chart/table of what versions work.
Yes lots of people (and threads) and no technical reason not to go down and back to SL 10.6.5/10.6.8.
You stil have a "5,1" and no change to firmware to block running Snow Leopard.

Jun 27, 2013 6:51 AM in response to atroncosomby atroncosom,Thanks for your answers.
The Mac Pro was bought in 2010/2011 and were coming pre-installed Snow Leopard. These teams update to Mountain Lion to test the new OS but now we do not get downgrande, I tried with the OS on usb, dvd, completely erasing the hdd, etc, I can not.
If I use the OS SL 10.6.8 I serve?, Since probre with 10.6.7 and I worked, I could not boot the installer. -
Jun 27, 2013 9:11 AM in response to atroncosomby The hatter,You got the original DVD ? All you need not sure what you used or why or if you know understand how

Jun 27, 2013 9:32 AM in response to atroncosomby Grant Bennet-Alder,You CAN install 10.6 on any Mac Pro, but it requires specific DVDs and may require an additional Mac to act as intermediary.
It is not straightforward, and requires complete attention to the details as stated above.
Anything less will result in failure.

Jun 27, 2013 9:41 AM in response to atroncosomby atroncosom,DVD 10.6.3 I have the original, but the Mac Pro does not recognize it, but in other machines Imac and install without problems, the Mac Pro where I can not install it, Would it be that the MacPro firmware blocks the installation of SL?

Jun 27, 2013 9:45 AM in response to atroncosomby The hatter,As said 10.6.3 cannot work. Might with older gpu. OEM cannot be used from or on a different Mac model.

Jun 27, 2013 10:04 AM in response to atroncosomby atroncosom,And if I buy 10.6.8 serve me back to SL?, Because if it does not help, do not want to spend money. The Mac Pro were purchased between 2010 and 2011.

Jun 27, 2013 10:18 AM in response to atroncosomby Grant Bennet-Alder,And if I buy 10.6.8
You cannot buy 10.6.8 in any form.
The "Full Retail" 10.6.3 DVD will not boot or install directly on your 2010 or later Mac Pro.
You can only:
a) Use the 10.6.4 custom Mac-Pro-specific DVD that shipped in the box with the computer (if it did ship with a version of 10.6 and not with10.7) OR
b) Use a slightly older Mac, Install 10.6 from a "Full Retail" DVD (that contains drivers for every Model Mac), update to 10.6.8, and clone to the Mac Pro.
