Q: I have a MAC 10.7.5 - Mid 2012 model.....I believe it should have MAC LION including airplay on it when I purchased it.....am I right?

MAC PRO - MID 2012 MODEL - RUNNING SYSTEM 10.7.5

PLease can you help me out? I have purchased the above Mac and am under the impression that I should automatically have MOUNTAIN LION with AIRPLAY so that I can run APPLE TV from this computor - so that I can mirror my screen to the TV....am I right?

Please can you help as to why I dont have it, and how I can go about getting it?

Thanks for your kind help - when we look on the apple site - it tells us that models that are Mid 2011 and newer should have it so thats why we thought it was strange.....our model is 2012 so we assumed it would come with is.

So we need to purchase MOUNTAIN LION - is that correct?

10.7.5 is Lion which was all that was available at that time.

Since Mountain Lion was release after your Mac was made it should not have it.

You need to purchase it.

only the later mid 2012's came with 10.8 although you can update to 10.8 via the app store for $19.99

I think what you are seeing is which models of Mac can run Mountain Lion not which model came with it.

Yes. Buy it from the App Store.
