Q: Problem With Imac g5

Hi>>>

Ihave Aproblem with my Imac G5>>>

Ihave OSX 10.4.4>>>a try to instal to my H.D>>>after instal the OS>>and restart>>>booting with the apple logo just...and the fan sound high and nothing>>>wait 15 to 30 minutes and nothing...

some time i try to format the H.D...and fail to format....and some times pass>>

so Itry to replace to other H.D>>>and the same problem>>

after that i replaced with seagate 500 GB (From my PC) and reformat and install again the OSX...but the same problem>>>booting with logo (just logo) and nothing else ( but with Seagate 500 G.B from my PC its very fast format and install>>>not like the other H.D)

Im replaced the H.D cable..Sata cable>>>

but the same>

I try do press the power botton and put the power cable and i see the light flashing..and i hear sound..

and i trying to press command + alt + R + P

im doing Every thing>>>to boot with this device...but ALL time Fail....

SO i wanT to help me....

Hello Millad,

On the flashing & lights...

Can you count the beeps or flashes?

1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable

In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.

Note: In this case, a flash is considered to be 1/4 second or 250 ms or greater in length.

The frist thing that comes to mind it where did you get your 10.5 disc? It needs to be a full retail version of Leopard. Grey dvds are machine specific dvds and need to match your machine exactly to work.

You may upgrade to 10.4.11 for free.

my Imac G5 .. its working with out any problem...just my problem its after install the OS...after restart not boot and contuine the setup>>>just frezze on apple logo....

IM lost my DVD restore OS...so im trying to download form internet>>>>>

and i cant to buy the DVD from Apple...because im living in area we dont have a mail....
so hard to get the orginal DVD...

Call Apple Customer Support 1-800-767-2775, provide the Serial Number and specifications of the Mac, and for a reasonable fee, they will supply a replacement set of system discs (if available).

The discs will be for the original version of the OS that was pre-installed when the Mac was manufactured.

There are no legal copies of Mac OS X on the internet for download. You have an illegal copy of X. Not surprising you have problems.
