Q: Hi Hope someone can help. Trying to startup in Safe mode and get to gray apple and it shuts backdown.

Need a bit of HELP! I have a imac late 2006 have upgrade memory and graphics, also kept up with OS as well so running latest possible. It was chuggin' along fine running everything even abode suite photo shop and such.

Until I made the unenviable mistake of adding "Nortons".  Hmmmmmm!

Well at first it was a little slow in doing things, then within days everything slowed to a crawl took nearly 15 minutes to start! Then I thought #$%@ I will uninstall it (HAHA yelled those people at Nortons you shall never see this system again!)

It started after uninstall mightly slowly, so I shut it down again and oh know no start again!

Get to the Apple and spinning gray cog lines and just sit and I mean 8 hours still nothing, tried several times.

Thought research SAFEMODE, OK Tried this, but when I do this it comes starts to spin the gray then shuts down!

HELP!
