Q: Macbook pro time zone and geolocation error

I am running a macbook pro osx 10.7.5

I am currently located in the UK (near Oxfordshire) with my wifi on and decent internet connection.

The router I am using was in Montreal 2 weeks ago but has been powered down for several days during transit to the UK.

When I connect to this wifi, my time zone shows as Montreal.

If I go onto maps to geolocate it shows me as being in Montreal.

This macbook pro has never been to Montreal.

I know that I can change this manually but I'm just trying to figure out why this is happening.

I suspected it was the router however other laptops connecting to the router are showing the correct time zone and geolocation.

Anyone have any ideas?

As I said - I am aware that I can set my time zone and location manually - I'm just trying to understand what is causing this error?
