Q: Apple Wireless Keyboard on new iMac 27" keeps switching between capitals and non

. i.e when caps pressed writes in lower case and the opposite, writes in capitals when caps lock off. Weird!

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

    You have the Caps Lock key enabled - green light is on. Disable Caps Lock.

    You aren't holding down the SHIFT key, too, are you?

     

    I have no idea why that would happen, otherwise, unless there is a keyboard setting that reverses it. I have not seen such a setting. It could also be a software installation error thus the keyboard is not operating properly.

     

    Since it's new I would take it back. If you are within 14 days of purchase you can have it replaced, no questions asked.

    Thanks, not holding Shift Button unfortunately, I have the feeling its a keyboard issue. Thought maybe there was a setting under system preferences. The thing is it doesnt happen all the time and was thinking that maybe when a select set of keys were hit at the same time that it could act as a short cut and the switch would take place.
