If you turn on the hotspot in your phone and somebody has access to your phone, he/she can find your ID and password in 5 second and

by turning on the hotspot, it would be very easy to use your cellular data. I beleive apple should put an option to hide atleast one of them

If you have personal hotspot enabled for others nearby to access with their computer or tablet, why would you give someone access to your iPhone - especially someone that would take the liberty to peruse thorough your iPhone settings?

You can change the password in less than 5 seconds.

Ust the same basic security precautions you would use to protect your phone and anything on it: Put a passcode on the phone. Don't let it out of your posession. Pick your friends wisely (ok, that last one applies to life in general, as well).

I don't understand how this is an issue.

The Hotspot data is for you to see and set. Nobody should be having free access to your Phone to peruse your hotspot settings. And even if they did, you can change the hotspot password, and turn of the hotspot easily.

Really there's no way for someone to be using your Hotpost without your knowledge, as the phone automatically shows you a green Bar with connected devices when Hotspot is active.

Hiding the Hotspot settings would just make it harder to work with.

As Meg and Alan, either keep your phone to yourself, or make new friends that aren't snooping in your settings.

I have this issue when my son takes his iPad mini to his father's house. His father connects to the hotspot and uses the data. They should offer an option to hide the password or disable the hotspot in restrictions.

Then provide that feedback to Apple, at www.apple.com/feedback.

Until then, use one of the social settings that has been available since prior to iPads were created; communication between you and your son's father.  If need be, do not allow your son to take his iPad to his father's home, if your rules will not be followed, and especially if he is using your cellular data without your permission.

Why would your son be creating a hotspot there anyway. To create a hotspot the iPad has to have cellular connectivity. If it has that, he has no reason to create a hotspot, since he already has data on the iPad. Are you saying the father takes the iPad and creates the Hotspot? It sounds like this cellular connection is yours and you pay it? If so, then have the son have a passcode on the device. Then you and the father need to have a discussion about using your data.

Thank you for your insight. Since traditional methods have failed, I am on a forum seeking a technical solution at this point.
