TS3276 my outgoing mail keeps saying it is offline.  how do i switch to online status. incoming mail is fine.

My outgoing mail is offline trying to send messages through Mail, but works fine through my Road Runner Website mail.  How do I switch it online?

    While your incoming mail works, your outgoing SMTP mail has its own server, username and password and SSL (likely enabled) settings hidden away deep inside, and that's likely wrong. 


    To get to the SMTP server preferences, select Preferences in, select the Account tab and select the Account itself, then select Account Information tab, then switch the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) to Edit SMTP Server List... then select the SMTP server for the account, and verify the settings against what Roadrunner requires for your login; your username and password for whichever SMTP server Roadrunner requires, likely with TLS/SSL enabled.  Possibly with non-default ports.
