    Hi

It is the .itl file that matters. Your pre-upgrade .itl file will have been backed up to the Previous iTunes Libraries folder during the upgrade.  See the method above. Either copy your prefered file to the machine running 10.6.3 and use it there alone or downgrade the one running 11.0.4 as otherwise you will be back where you started.

Or.... upgrade the other machine to 11.0.4. As long as both machines run the same build you can share the library between them. A lot of familiar features have been hidden in iTunes 11 and can be restored from the menus. The main differences are the loss of cover flow and the ability to open multiple playlist windows. If you don't need those you may be better off going with the latest build.

So I just followed the steps here and I can no longer access iTunes store through iTunes. Anyone else have this issue?

What if your computer has never had iTunes 10.7 or anything before 11 and has no previous iTunes library??? my Previous iTunes Libraries folder is empty

Learn to live with the version that you have, or install an older build, delete the current library file, and import your media into a fresh database, though this will lose your current ratings, play counts, playlists etc.

i've done it and my iphone syncing via cable (original iphone) now works once again.  Yeeeeeha!

duh! it didn't work.  this iCloud syncing just made my old iphone useless.

Yep - took me a little bit to get around to hitting this stone wall hard and I'm LIVID that Apple (or anyone) would be force feeding cloud based services down our throats.

Brand new iPhone 5S - and in setting it up can not locate an info tab?!!! Discover Mavericks FORCES cloud synch? !!! Not acceptable and this 'undocumented feature' was never part of the demo's, the kick off, or literature for Mavericks or iTunes.

Best hope right now is to downgrade iTunes so I can get back Info synching and the old radio (as radio service now stinks... much prefer the older radio styles).

With such a heavy handed force I'm starting to consider my loyalty to Apple products and Apple as a company. I've used Apples since the Apple // days, and one of the reasons is because it was open. iOS is a walled garden (dealing w/it) but will NOT get bullied into using cloud services....  no way.

The "old" radio is now called Internet or Internet Radio depending on where you look.

Successfully downgraded from iTunes 11 back to 10.7 - all looking good.. BUT....

Plugging in the 5S now states
"The iPhone “name” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 11.1 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes."

    This isn't looking good.....

The iPhone 4 pops right up in iTunes 10.7, as expected (and as wanted). Anyone know if there would be a way to spoof iTunes to reading the 5S or the 5S telling iTunes it is an older model?

Cannot be done. You cannot downgrade the firmware on the device, and it won't talk to anything less than iTunes 11.1.

In case you haven't run into my thoughts on this yet....

The main differences between iTunes 11 and earlier versions are the loss of coverflow and ability to have multiple windows open.

In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:

    • ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
    • CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
    • CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
    • CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
    • Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
    • Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
    • If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
    • With iTunes 11.0.3 and later you can enable artwork in the Songs view from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view
    • View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) also contains options to change the sorting of grid based views

On a Mac. For me, the main kicker was the loss of the info tab which I only noticed now as I am setting up the new phone. Though I miss Internet Radio, there are substitutes so I just wrote off using iTunes for internet music (not into the create your own station music).

But now 100% hosed. Choices are either A) Give up Mavericks and go back to Mountain Lion, B) Give up the iPhone 5S - go back to an older model, or C) manually enter the data and never have the information synched.

One support tech stated Apple made the decision to improve the adoption of the cloud services. One thing to hide the functionality a bit for those who really need it - a complete other mess to just rip it away.

Anyone know of a 3rd party tool that will synch? Back in the day there used to be a few tools to synch smart phones w/Macs...that might be a workaround... and then likely kick iTunes to the curb 100%. No value anymore.
