When my iPad mini is connected to iTunes, a Windows pop-up reads "One if the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." also, an iTunes pop up reads " An iPad has been detected, but can not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the device again." Then another pop up comes up. "iTunes could not connect to this phone. An unknown error occurred." My iPad has been syncing for as long as I've had it, it has recently been persuing this problem.

I purchased my iPad in January, so I no longer have free tech support.

 

I know its not the computer, because when I connect my iPod, its start syncing automatically. My white cord works perfectly when charging the iPad.

What would be the problem?

    This could be a driver problem. With your iPad connected via USB, open device manager - if you are using Windows 7 upwards you should just be able to hit the Windows Key on your keyboard and type Device Manager then hit return.

     

    I'm guessing you'll see an exclaimation mark ! through your iPad in Device Manager, if that's the case right click the device and select uninstall.

     

    Disconnect your iPad.  I presume you have the latest version of iTunes installed, if not now would be a good time to install it. Once done or if already installed I'd restart Windows and then reconnect your iPad and see if it installs the driver ok this time around.
