I have a limited text plan with Verizon.  I recently bought an iPhone 5 so I can iMessage my friends (who also have iPhones) for free.  I just checked my online Verizon usage account and it states that I have used 100+ texts out of my text plan.  (Note: the bubbles in my iMessage are ALWAYS blue, which means FREE.)

 

I called Verizon.  The rep said my friend's iMessage Setting is set to "OFF" so that's why it's affecting my text plan.  However, I don't think that's the problem because if that's the case, I would be way over my text plan.  We've texted wayyy more than just a 100 texts.

 

I called Apple.  The rep couldn't really answer me!  She said I should check with Verizon.

 

Is this because I am texting without wi-fi?  Sometimes it's on, sometimes it's off when we text.  But again, my bubbles are always blue.  Help!
