Q: stopping iphone erase

I believe I've seen people remove the device from Find my phone using iCloud.com and it has canceled the wipe command. I cannot confirm this, it's not something I've tried (or want to try )

If you also backed up to icloud, that I have seen work, you just restore from that backup after erase is over.

I have mixed feelings about that. I would talk to Apple and find out, or at the very least try to find out what happened. You do want to make sure, that when you do need to press that button- it works. Right?

I am having the same problem, and I need to stop the erase. Did the erase process start at all for you? I am guesing not, but could you please verify?

I know this is extremely late but I want other people to know that read this because I just had this problem.

I  accidentally set my girlfriends iPod to erase and before she turned it on. I deleted the iPod from my device

list on FindMyIphone App, and by deleting it, it  cancel the erase request.
