iTunes is incredibly slow and unresponsive on my computer. I have Windows 7 64 bit with an i-5 intel processor and 16GB of ram, and it worked just as badly on my 64 bit Vista Dual Core (2.8 ghz processor) with 6GB of ram.

When i click on a song to play, it averages at about 30 seconds to a minute or longer to start the song and you cannot do anything else in the program or use the task bar when this happens. If you pause or play a song it will take at least 10 seconds or longer to respond. If you skip to another song it will take a very long time as well.

iTunes 10 never had this problem, and once they introduced the current interface, things started becoming very unpleasant for iTunes. It often tells me it 'failed to start sync session' with my 4th generation 32GB iTouch. But that isn't the issue i'm asking about here. What I would like to know is why iTunes is so impossibly slow and unresponsive? It is incredibly inconvenient and frustrating, especially considering it's the only media player I have ever liked, and because I have an iPod, it's the only thing I can use to put anything onto said iPod.

Please, please, please tell me there are plans in place to fix this. It's getting very frustrating, and I'm becoming very opposed to using iTunes because of it.
