With iTunes 11.0.1(12) this problem is gone.

This very same problem has been driving me crazy. Alas, I have iTunes 11.0.1(12) already and the problem continues. Any ideas appreciated.
Mac mini, OS X 10.7.5, airport express with latest firm ware update.

I am not really sure, that my problem is really gone. On my system iTunes did not hang the last time, but when I tried to restart my system a couple of days later - the restart hangs.
I do suggest, that you file a bug report and attach the iTunes crash log.

Thanks for that - good advice I'll file a report.
I've just switched to streaming music this way after struggling for many years with a Logitech Duet. When it worked it was brilliant, but very flaky at times. Naively I thought I would switch to something totally reliable and sorted. To be fair the remote app works brilliantly on iphone and no problem with streaming my music collection - just that, like you, I stream radio feeds too. I cannot believe others don't have the same problem too. My internet connection drops out several times a day, which I'm pursuing as well.
If/when I make progress I'll post it.

Yes please keep me informed. Tonight I will tune to a radio station again and check if iTunes will hang.

Yesterday upgraded from itunes 11.0.1 (12) to 11.0.2(25) and this morning, when listening to radio, internet went down for say 5 seconds. Have to say I was amazed when itunes didn't freeze and radio came back of its own accord! I will keep an eye on it, but hopefully the bug is now fixed.

As far as I know the bug is still open. In the second article of this thread, I was convinced that the bug was gone. But it was not.
Sometimes iTunes might ba able to reconnect - but only sometimes.

Tonight I'll deliberatley pull the plug on the router and see what happens. This morning was the first time that itunes had actually managed to reconnect.

Interesting. I deliberately cut the router connection for about ten seconds - tried it three times. On no occasion did itunes freeze - I just had to select play again on the remote app. So at least for me it seems to be an improved situation. Infact last night the internet connection went down of it's own accord for a few seconds (as it does here) and the radio just came back up on it's own.
I'll see what happens just using it on an everyday basis - as we know it's not always immediately obvious whether a bug is finally cleared.

Ok you can guess - internet dropped out earlier and Itunes foze. Still no solution.

Nope, iTunes 11.0.3 (42) still does it.
None of you wizards figured out a Terminal fix for this yet? I have no such mad skills.

Alas I've still not found a fix for this. Makes me mad that Apple release Itunes updates with 'added functionality' and fancy features, yet they don't sort out bugs with basic operation. I must have filed 20 plus crash reports on this problem.

what I guess is, that this problem is not really an iTunes bug - more a network problem in the OS.
As you see from my earlier posts, I thought that the problem has gone - but it has not. I think it is more a random problem depending on several circumstances:
- duration of the drop
- reconnect with the same IP address or a new IP address
- getting the dyndns record updated in time
- state of the IP stack - what kind of packets were lost during the drop
Even if it is hard to reproduce the reasons for the bug, Apple seems to be uninterested in this bug

The problem is NOT gone, even with 11.0.4.
