i'm think using migration assistant is the way i want to do it however being organized enough to properly use migration assistant is a problem. i'm building a house right now and i sort of want a quick fix to my issues. as i'm using a 2006 macbook pro i'm really due an upgrade. i think i'll go with Neil's option this time and Dalstott's when i get my new computer and i have more time on my hands. thanks people, will report back during or after upgrade.
wow that was easy! it's just like my old osx only shinier! everything is as it was, even my safari 'history' and 'recent items' lists are there. and all my important software seems to at least open.. CS3, office and myob. wish i did this years ago.
it leads me to ask tho, what if i had wanted a complete 'factory settings' os, a clean mac. what would i have done differently to achieve that?
