You are not alone. I have the same problem.

Recently upgraded to 11.0.2.26 (64 bit on windows 7) after my Library was lost and now have reset up and recreated my playlists. I decided to import a CD. iTunes doesnt acknowlege the CD was added. Nothing is flagged up, no buttons, icons, or options appear, no options to select from a CD. It is as though CDs are invisible to iTunes. Yet they are visible in Windows Explorer and appear in and play quite happily in (and rip from) Windows Media Player. The CDs I have tried are not copy protected, so it is not that.

Altogether not very happy with the lack of quality for this iTunes release, and also the UI is too basic and user unfriendly in places. I have been putting off re-syncing my iPod to it - guess its time to suck it and see.

I hope someone has the time to look at this problem in amongst the pages and pages of other issues being reported that I had to wade through to find this thread.

Im glad you have this same problem , ( not glad you have a problem ) but i was beginning to think it was something I'd done , and as i now remember it was my first try to import a cd since upgrading to iTunes 11.0.2.26  i too run 64 bit and about 4 months upgraded from windows 7 to windows 8 . I spent four hours just trying to import one cd on Saturday just gone , nothing , i even returned my computer to an earlier time this resolved nothing . I expected more from apples iTunes as spent a lot of money on songs and music , now i cant even import a cd and get them on an iPod , this used to be a simple little job thats turned into a chore . As well as reporting this to the communities ,ive also put the same question to apple and had no results whatsoever , lets hope zebbomooty someone will resolve this for us , ill keep trying , please let me know if you have any luck , your partner in need lol , dillon .

Finally found out what was causing this for my situation. I had changed the drive letter designations for my 2 DVD drives to be A: and B: (in order to avoid inconsistency of additional drive letters being assigned to my external hard drives when adding hot swapping them into the system). For some reason A: and B: drive letters are not recognised by the iTunes software when detecting the CDs being inserted. Problem resolved when I reset the DVD drives to other drive letters.

Frankly it's about time Apple software was written to recognize any / all drive letters - It should be up to the User to designate their use. It has been some years since A and B drives were used exclusively for floppy disc drives, and there are virtually no PCs remaining which use floppy drives. Window Media Player was perfectly happy using A and B drive letters.

    Deep sigh.

    Hi,

Just found the same problem, although my drive letter is "D" so not solved yet!

It all worked fine until I needed to reinstall and update itunes, it worked well for a couple of CD's and now...nothing.

    Any other suggestions please?

    Thanks in advance
