So the only way to solve this problem is to revert back to USB mouse and keyboard? Is that what I'm hearing?

I don't think that's been said definitively. Unfortunately, often the only way to solve these problems for yourself is to do some thorough testing of what works and what doesn't. If you think you're having problems with bluetooth interference, try switching to something else for awhile and see if things improve.

Obviously an issue with the Mac Mini. I've got a MBP running at perfect Wireless speeds. I'm now on my second Mac Mini 2012 2.5Ghz as I thought it was a fault with the original so returned it to Amazon. Same problem exists on this. Quick for the first part of the day, then complete slowdown. Hopeless!

I was having the same issues with my Mac Mini (late 2012) on the 2.4GHz spectrum.  I can't use 5GHz in my house because of where my wifi router is located, all devices don't pickup a good signal, but 2.4 they do (the router cannot be moved), so I need all devices on 2.4 in order to share/stream, etc.  My Mac Mini picks up both spectrums strongly so I can test on the 5GHz band, and wifi was always fine.

My issue was being caused from an external USB 3.0 HDD that I have running next to my Mac Mini which was causing interference on 2.4GHz:

I turned it off, and my speeds instantly were restored to normal speeds (from 2Mbps to 15Mbps)

My resolution to this issue was switching the channel my router was on.  I was only getting about 2mbps, and our internet we are paying for is 20mbps.  I started going through each channel on the router.  When I switched to channel 2 on the router @2.417 GHZ, that is what did it.  I have run a few speed tests and am now averaging 20mbps.  Finally!

For what it's worth, I've just started having this issue when I enabled the 5 Ghz band on my Extreme router.

I've had this Mac Mini for about two years and never had a problem with connectivity via wifi.  Last week I enabled the 5 Ghz band on the Extreme and connected my Mini to the 5Ghz band.  Then....I decided to switch back to the 2.4 Mhz band and the Mini would NOT allow me to switch over.  It's kept staying on 5Ghz.  Using another device I logged into the Extreme and switched OFF the 5Ghz band.  I returned to the Mini and tried to connect to the 2.4.  THAT was when I started to encounter problems with connecting and maintaining a connection to the router.  If I was able to connect to the 2.4 band I had IP address issues and slow internet connections and stalling.

My guess is there is obviously a software issue when switching bands.  I've tried all the recommendations others have tried to no avail.

It happens to me too. My external hard drive was close to the PC. I removed it and solved the problem.
