I have a new macbook and my old iphoto file is not compatible.  I called the apple for solution and the tech told me to email myself over 14000 photos.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

MacBook Pro, iOS 6.1.4

There is no version of iPhoto that is not compatible with a newer one. But you'll really have to give us more info than that for help. What version did you have? What makes you think it's not compatible?

With no detailed information no definative answer can be given - however the general answer is Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc)  or use an external hard drive formed Mac OS extended (journaled) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.

If the old library is iPhoto 5 or earlier you will be instructed to download and execute an upgrader program - do that and then launch the new iPhoto again
