There is another MicroController inside your Mac that handles Bus timing, power, and a host of other "mundane Issues". When wacky Hardware probelm's strike, reset the System Management Controller (SMC).Mac Pro (Early 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.8), & Server, PPC, & AppleTalk Printers

appreciate the info.
I did try that, and switching the power cord (Which was a long shot) and still not luck.
Pretty facinating issue.
I am going ot continue to look through the forums and see if I find anything.
If anyone else has had this issue with an older MacPro - I would love ot hear it.

I switched to a 3rd keyboard and presto. It worked.
Not sure what was going on, but two keyboard (older) one seriously OG and another the cool flat ones - didn't work.
The keyboard that was with the computer for the last year, (Found it in my bag) was the key.
Again, hardware issue.
