forwarding Mail not showing up in Mac Mail

i seem to be having a bizarre issue. i had to create an "all@" account for my domain based email because my new host (HostGator) has a policy where they shut down my site if there are more than 25 processes on my site (they blame this on Mac Mail though i am not sure Mac Mail is totally to blame even though it seems at least partly to blame). anyway, since i have ten email accounts it is very easy to open mac mail on two of my devices and have my site shut down happen which is no bueno big problemo.


so - as a temporary attempted fix - i added an "all@" account in the hopes that checking this account in Sparrow will result in less processes - but of course i am not really sure if this is effective. anyway, i am noticing that i am NOT SEEING /some/ of my mail that arrives in some of my boxes in Mac Mail whereas i am seeing it in the "all@" box in Sparrow. this is obviously somewhat counterintuitive since i would expect to see it in the dedicated accounts that are ALL listed in Mac Mail.


further explanation:


i am using Mac Mail and i am using Sparrow to access my email accounts. i have been seeing some mail in some places that i do not see in others.

today i see an email from a "Holly LastName" that is in Sparrow in my "" account (this is where i am forwarding all my email) but i DO NOT see this email in my "" email box in Mac Mail.


HOWEVER, i do see an email from Christian LastName in /both/ of these locations.


BOTH of these emails were sent only to my me@my email address and they were not moved or otherwise filtered.


ALSO, i have checked the APlus web based email service and this email is actually not showing up on the APlus server under the address but IT IS showing up in the "" email address.


ON THE OTHER HAND the email from Christian LastName is showing up in both! this has been going on for about three months and i think i am starting to lose the portion of my brain that handles logic in trying to figure this out. does anyone have any ideas on what may be happening?


is it possible that APlus is forwarding some of the mail and MOVING some of the other mail from my account? in this way some of the emails show up ONLY in the all@ account and some show up in both the me@ and the all@ account? i mean, the only other logical explanation that i can see is that Mac Mail is not showing me /some/ of the mail that is arriving in the me@account (for some reason) but this would also have to be followed by Mac Mail somehow REMOVING the email from my APlus web based server since when i look in the me@ account i actually don't see this email there (even though it does show up in the all@ account.


seems like either APlus is MOVING some mail from the me@ account to the all@ account or Mac Mail is DOWNLOADING AND REMOVING some of the mail to the me@ account??!! it has taken me three months to sit down and sift this out a bit.


i suppose i could add the all@ account to my Mac Mail client but this seems like i would then be seeing duplicates of a lot of mails since this is the account where i am forwarding all my accounts and not simply the me@ account.


anyone much smarter than i am able to make something of this?
