If you sync them from your computer, then you have to remove them from your computer. You can't use the "Delete" option from your iPad.
I learned that a few years ago. Hope this helps.

Go to the folder on your computer that those synced photos are in. Move those photos elsewhere then sync and the photos will go away.
Alternatively you can connect your device to your computer and open iTunes. Click on the name of your device and navigate to the photos tab. Choose a different folder or deselect any folder then sync. Your device will replace the photos on your device with what's in that other folder, or simply remove them all together if you deselect all photos syncing.
Given the difficulty of removing synced photos, I stopped syncing photos a long time ago. Instead if I want photos on my iPad I'll just mail them to myself...or you can use any number of photos apps that have the ability to sync/share data, or upload them to something like dropbox and then download them onto your device. Downloaded or saved photos can be deleted from inside the photos app.

I don't want to sync any photos from my computer to my ipad. The photo is no longer in My PIctures, therefore, there is nothing for me to delete out of my My Pictures folders. I did plug in my ipad, but the photo in question does not show up there. It must be out of the cloud, but I don't know how to access it.

Photo albums that were cited to the iPad by syncing with a computer are deleted by doing another sync. But this time in iTunes on your computer deselect the albums you no longer want on the iPad before clicking on Apply or Sync.
If the album or photos are no longer in My Pictures then just clicking on Sync will remove those photos or albums from your iPad.

Am I supposed to move all photos from My Pictures on my computer before I do the sync....because I don't want any photos from that file to be downloaded into my ipad? Is there a way to set the ipad or itunes so it will never sync the photos from the computer? Sometimes, I would like to have photos from the ipad to sync to the computer but never the photos from computer to ipad. Does this make sense?
