Q: i purchased a reference book for ibooks - my phone was destroyed and I wanted to transfer my book to the computer so I could continue to use it...the response was that I can only view it on my phone...my phone broke...so, am I out the money?

Is there any way of getting the book back? thanks

No, not without an iOS device with the iBooks app - as clearly mentioned under the purchase button of any iBook in the iBook store, they are readably ONLY in iBooks on an iOS device.

When OS X Mavericks comes out later this year, there will be an OS X version of iBooks, but there has never been any mention of a Windows version.
