Q: Rendering preview also daily now. Why.

It seem that i have to render previews one or twice a day. I use NIK software and it creates duplicates upon saving, but are found immedialty when exiting the plugin.

If changing views, its gone or looks like the master withou my plugin adjustements. I update my previewd to correct this manually.

Doesnt Aperture automatically update previews.

    It should.

    Aperture and Nik versions?

How are you calling the Nik plug-ins?  Exactly how are you saving and exiting Nik?

Have you done any trouble-shooting?  Repaired your Library?

Does it happen in a newly-created Library?

Depends on your settings in Aperture.

Aperture can generate previews for all projects or can maintain previews on a project-by-project basis.

I am calling the plugins directly from Aperture, saving and going back into Aperture. All the latest versions.

To render previews for all projects enable: "New projects automatically create previews" in the Preview Preferences:

To enable previews only for selected projects, select a project in the Inspector and and click the gears-icon in the upper right corner of the Inspector panel and enable "Maintain Previews for the project".

What is better? The first option will make everything automatic and less trouble. The seond option will let you save space, if you do not need to share previews for all projects.

The setting in Preferences pertains to all new projects created from the moment you set the preference on.

The current projects are controlled y the settings in the Library tab of the inspector that Léonie showed in her screenshot.

So to have all projects maintain previews you would need to make sure the preference was set in the Preference window (this makes all new projects maintain previews)  and then check that the current projects are maintaining previews.

From the description of your problem in your fist post I'm not really sure it is a preview generation problem but check these settings just to be sure and post back.

    regards
