My 2nd Gen Shuffle dies very quickly (20 minutes or less) if I click through rapidly to change songs.  Anything I can do or is it toast?

Hi, I pretty much described the issue in the question.  For the last week or so, my shuffle seems to die very quickly if I scroll through quickly to find songs. It will usually turn back on after a few songs, but be back at the "beginning" rather than the last song I was on.

I have mostly experienced this while running in hot, humid conditions (which I don't think is the problem, I'd take this same Shuffle on 2-3 hour runs on warm, humid mornings over the last 2 years).  I've duplicated the effect indoors a few times.  Last week it died after about 45 minutes of continuous play (in which I didn't scroll through to find songs) while I was inside.

I've tried charging it (of course), but I'm wondering if the battery is finally toast.  I've had it since 2007 and used it mostly for running.  It's been a great, reliable piece of gear with (until the current problem) quick charging, good sound quality, and amazing battery life.  Seems like this is the end, though.
