Q: How much free space does Windoz 8 require?

I have a total of 23 gb's on my Macbook Air 11' mid 2012. Yet it shows me the error "The startup disk does not have enough space to be partitioned." How much more do I need to trash? How much free space does Windoz 8 needs at total?

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Windows 8 requires 20 GB of storage. However, you should delete files from the MacBook Air or move data to an external drive in order to make more space because OS X won't run correctly if you leave it with 3 GB of free storage

    60GB is sensible, 100GB ideal.

You don't have enough space, and you also have a fragmented disk (the part of the error message you omitted explains how to deal with that)
