My MacBook 13 retina has SSD 250GB and as was I had around 15GB of free space

(My iPhoto DB was 125 GB.)

Moved it to an external drive for merging and copying.

After cleaning, when trying to move the smaller DB back, I had too little space avail so I cant move it back..

My free HD space after DB move is 98GB

DB new size is 100gb.

I cant get the DB back!

Whats happening what is taking up my space?

What is expanding?

(Nothin else installed/moved since this happened.)

Thanks for any hints where to look!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Use an app like Grand Perspective

to see what's using up the spacee.

Hi Terence appreacte your support in my navigation in the MAC world.

I have remedied my problem by actually formating my HD and reinstalled a Time Machine from a few days back.

I have now 67 GB of free space!

There is something "invisibe" that expands taking up my space that is not reversed when closing/restarting my machine. I could not find anything unnormal using "Grand Perspective" but I really like the graphics and will continue using it.

I look at alot of movies during travels, do they build caches or similar using up "invicible" space?

Conclusion is taht problem is solved but I am as puzzle as before on what took up the balance of the free space..

Let's see going forward of it shrinks again..
