There is no consistency.
Maybe about every 10th site I visit.
I just tried the last site that it popped up and that site was fine this time.

Use an ad blocker, such as GlimmerBlocker, and/or a selective cookie blocker such as the Ghostery Safari extension.

Thanks for your suggestions... will those programs address my current issue or just prevent future problems? do you know what this globalconsumersurvey is? trojan ... virus .. malware etc?

I found globalsecurityconsurvey in my cookies file and deleted it as well as several others with no know use. We'll see how that works. Thanks to all for the input.

Thanks for all of your help! I installed the the Ghostery Safari extension -- and the pop up has not popped. But now a new issue... I now get chopped up scrambled screens occasionally ... example: part of Mail is in Safari...any ideas? Never had that happen before
