Q: Problem setting up new Airport Extreme Base Station
After connecting a brand new Airport Extreme Base Station (802.11ac tower)and plugging it in, everything is fine with my ethernet DSL connection.
However, when I run the setup through the Airport Utility - creating network name & password, etc. - and the Utility does its thing, I lose my Internet connection. The Network Diagnostics window shows green lights next to "Ethernet," "Network Settings" and "ISP," but the lights next to "Internet" and "Server" have turned yellow.
When I use clippy to reset the Airport Extreme Base Station, wait for it to get back to the flashing yellow light and to fire up the Airport Utility, and then run through the Network Diagnostics again, all the Network Status lights are green and the Internet connection is restored. I don't, however, have a WiFi network yet.
I have exchanged the Base Station once at the Apple Store and both times I had the same problem occur.
Is there something I'm missing? Is there a compatibility issue with my computer or OS? (iMac 21.5-inch Late 2009 running 10.7.5)
